Surrounding Adelaide is…you guessed it…some great wine regions. Had to check them out when I was here.
Spent time at both the Barossa Valley (my pick there being the Artisans of Barossa – had a bunch of small wineries) and then in Adelaide Hills. In Adelaide Hills, I just stopped at two highly recommended wineries – Johnston Oakbank and, my FAVORITE of the bunch, Bird in Hand. I truly loved all of their wines. I even bought a beautiful Merlot and brought it back in my carry on.
This is their cellar door and winery pictured here. They have three labels – Two in the Bush, Bird in Hand and Nest Egg. I will be keeping an eye out for the vineyard on menus here for sure. You should too!
