The Melbourne Cup.

It’s the Kentucky Derby of Australia.  Big ol’ horse race.  Lots of betting.  Big crazy hats.  Lots of drinking.  Correction – more drinking than usual for the middle of a work day.  There is always lots of drinking here.

Well, we are in rehearsals, so no midday drinking or parties for us.  But, we did do a few Melbourne Cup pools.  My horse, Mount Athos, made a good showing and came in third.

The winner was…Fiorente!  Who I kept calling Fiorello….close enough.

And you can see how intense these people get about their horse races!!!
